GRIM Duathlon

The GRIM Duathlon is one of the toughest short-course duathlons in the country. Are you up for the challenge?

Take on the trails, hills, mud, water, cammo nets, moguls and the sand dune on the Army's vehicle testing circuit. All the elements are there to be mastered, but all you’ll have will be your trainers and the bike – will you survive?

Enter as an individual or in teams of three competitors over a distance that will seem much longer than it appears. It's tough but then so are you - right?

It's also a lot of fun. The majority of the competitors are game for a challenge and by no means professionals so why not give it a go? It's a great event for all; a great challenge for beginner to pro. Hope to see you for some GRIM fun.

Here's what the 2010 competitors said about it:

- Saturday was an excellent event, I enjoyed the whole day, It was really well organised and good fun. I am also glad I made a last minute decision to turn up as I came 4th out of the girls so definitely worth it! Well done to the GRIM team.

- Fantastic event yesterday, well organised and I’ll be back next year

- Many thanks for today's race. It was my first duathlon, and very enjoyed myself, the event from my point of view ran very smoothly, the route signage and marshalling was spot on, and information was clear and easy to understand. I appreciate that these aspects don't occur with out a lot of planning, and hard work, so wanted to thank you team whole team, as well as the marshals for your efforts.

- I just wanted to say thank you for an extremely enjoyable event.  The whole event was very well organised – car parking and registration were easy and efficient; the transition area was well signed and secure; the marshals on the course and at the end were all friendly, supportive and helpful.  It is also great that the results and photos were available so quickly.

- This is the first time I have done this type of course.  I found the event very challenging and suitably ‘grim’ when I fell into the deep ditch water with my bike on top of me!  However after crossing the line I immediately felt euphoric that I had managed to complete the course. Thanks to all concerned.
